Iran said no. The 45-day ceasefire is dead. Trump's deadline passed and Hegseth went on record: "Today will be the largest volume of strikes since day one. Tomorrow, even more."
Oil is at $112. Bitcoin touched $70,000. Gold is above $4,660. None of those are panic numbers. The market looked at an escalating Middle East war and basically shrugged. That's the story.
Good morning. Here's what you need to know.

Gold and crypto are both holding up. Bitcoin hit $70,000 yesterday on $471M in ETF inflows, the 6th biggest single day of 2026. Gold is steady above $4,660. Dollar softening is helping both.
Oil is back at $112 after whipsawing between $109 and $115 yesterday on ceasefire rumors. With Iran's rejection confirmed and Hegseth promising "even more" strikes today, the path of least resistance is higher.
The dollar fell toward 100.00 yesterday as ceasefire hopes briefly built, then steadied. The DXY declining while oil rises is an unusual combination that historically puts significant upward pressure on gold.

Iran Rejected the Deal. Here's What Happens to Your Portfolio Now.
By The Alternative Insider Research Team
|
Deadline passed. Iran said no.
Iran rejected the 45-day ceasefire and demanded a permanent end to the war. Trump called it "not good enough." Hegseth promised the largest strikes yet. The Strait stays shut.
|
Iran formally rejected the 45-day ceasefire proposed by Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey. Tehran is demanding something the U.S. isn't offering: a permanent end to the war, sanctions relief, and reparations before a single ship moves through Hormuz. Trump called the proposal "not good enough, but a very significant step" the language of someone still leaving the door open while threatening to kick it down.
Markets aren't panicking. Oil is at $112, not $140. Bitcoin hit $70,000 on record ETF inflows. Gold is steady. What the market is saying: this conflict is the new background noise. Not a shock anymore. A sustained, expensive reality.
Three scenarios still in play
| Scenario |
Immediate market impact |
| Ceasefire deal |
Oil -30 to -40% overnight. Dollar weakens. Real rates fall. Gold surges. Crypto rallies hard on risk-on. Short-term violent move, long-term structurally bullish for hard assets as war spending unwinds. |
| Full escalation |
Oil toward $150. Inflation accelerates. Fed stuck. Gold's safe-haven bid returns forcefully. Crypto sells off on risk-off but recovers. Long-term gold case strengthens significantly. |
| Another extension |
Most likely outcome. Oil stays rangebound $105-115. Uncertainty premium stays baked in. Gold and dollar chop sideways. Market frustration builds which is historically constructive for physical gold holders who don't need price action to get paid. |
What Iran's rejection actually means
Iran didn't just say no. It counter-proposed a permanent end to the war, sanctions relief, reparations, and a new legal regime for Hormuz transit fees. That's not a counter-offer. That's Iran telling you how long it thinks it can hold out.
Meanwhile Israel struck a yellowcake facility in central Iran. That's the kind of target that makes the IAEA uncomfortable and the UN spokesperson scramble for a podium. Trump said he could take out "the entire country in one night." The U.S. blew up its own planes on Iranian soil rather than leave them behind. Nobody here is trying to wind this down.
The most likely path forward is a grinding stalemate. Strikes, counter-strikes, oil above $100 for months. That means persistent inflation, a Fed that can't move, and real assets outperforming paper.
|
The Bottom Line
In every scenario deal, escalation, or delay: the structural case for owning hard assets outside the financial system gets stronger, not weaker. The conflict ends when it ends. The debt doesn't.

Bitcoin Just Moved on War News. That's Actually Bullish.
Yesterday Bitcoin jumped 4% the moment ceasefire talks hit the wire. Not on an ETF filing. Not on a regulatory decision. On war news. That's a different asset than the one people were debating two years ago.
The old critique was that Bitcoin had no use case beyond speculation. It's hard to say that now. It's moving on geopolitics, dollar weakness, and inflation expectations. Same inputs as gold. The repricing is happening whether people acknowledge it or not.
BTC and gold have been moving together for six months. Dollar weakens, both go up. Safe-haven demand spikes, gold leads and BTC follows within hours. The Fannie Mae mortgage news, the Kraken Fed account, the SEC commodity classification. All pushing the same direction. The floor for Bitcoin is higher than most people think.
The mainstream still sees crypto as a casino. That's the gap. Gaps close.

๐ข๏ธ Iran's petrochemical complex is mostly gone. Israel struck Jam and Damavand, about 85% of Iran's petrochemical exports. Katz put the cost at tens of billions of dollars. Iran's biggest economic bargaining chip is now rubble.

โข๏ธ Strikes landed near Bushehr. Iran's nuclear plant wasn't hit, but close enough that the IAEA had to put out a statement. A strike that damages nuclear infrastructure triggers a response category nobody wants to model. Watch this.

โ๏ธ The F-15 rescue wasn't subtle. Trump called it "an Easter miracle." Hundreds of special ops and CIA went deep into Iran to pull it off, then blew up their own transport planes on the way out. That is not a defensive posture.
